Cliffs of the Nine
Severance is the fourth planet from the star in the Nine solar system. It is the only one out of the nine that is not a gas planet and is also the smallest.
The surface of Severance is almost completely smooth and is too cold and arid to support much life. An immense rift reaches around nearly two thirds of the circumference. Heat from the planet’s core warms the interior of the rift to an average of 75 degrees enabling life to flourish.
The Jimons, who are the only sentient natives in the Nine system, have built elaborate cities into the sides of the rift. The Cliffs of the Nine are widely known as a center for art, history and architecture.
